Life has a funny way of pulling the rug out from under your feet. In some cases, recovery is unimaginable. Getting back on your feet seems almost impossible. Remember, no matter how bad it seems, there is always a way up. Consider the following:

#1 - Take it all in
Do not ignore the situation. It is important for you to take it all in and contemplate on some self evaluation. Do not try to rush to recovery. That of course is your path forward, but it would help to move ahead slowly, but surely. Set aside some time for yourself. Try to put aside the impact of the situation, layer by layer.

#2 - Respond; do not react
A typical knee-jerk reaction to the situation can only make things worse. Reactions are based on emotions which in situations like this are unpredictable and in most cases, unstable. Irrational emotions can only make the situation worse. Instead, choose to respond. Use the tool of perspective to its fullest. This is the most rewarding and can help ease the pain.

#3 - Move forward
It is important to convince yourself that things can get better. At this point it does seem like it will not. Only you can do that first step. Wallowing in self-pity and staying there will not help you feel better at all. It might seem really hard to move on, but every little step counts. It could be as tiny as combing your hair, wearing a new dress, or redecorating your room. You must accept what has happened and the reality of the situation, and then make a conscious decision to move forward.

# 4 - Celebrate
On your way forward, celebrate every small victory. They might be small things that probably would not even make sense to an outsider, but it is important that you recognize them as victories. Celebrate!

Everyone has bad habits - what are yours? There could be so many: smoking, drinking, biting your nails, overeating, etc. Habits are always associated with the bad ones, what about the good ones? Successful people use habits as part of their routine. Their focus lies in cultivating positive habits, ones which are related to achieving their goals. Try this approach:

1. List down all the habits you already have. Make two separate lists: the good ones and the bad ones.

2. Next, consider the goals you have set for certain aspects of life. Identify the actions you would need to take to achieve them.

3. Identify regular practices that could help you achieve these things, considering how a few daily habits to support them would help attain them faster. Jot down two or three for each goal. Keep it simple and not too demanding.

4. Zone in what you would like to achieve as a priority. Select one or two of the habits on the list that would benefit this priority. These are the habits you must develop first.

5. You must spend the next month doing you just identified. It will soon become part and parcel of your life: a habit. To ensure you cultivate this habit, put it on a journal or task list and mark it off when completed.

6. Once you establish this habit, move on to the next on the list and keep repeating the process.
This could take perseverance on your part, but the benefits are great. Once you have the good habits established, you can start on eliminating the bad ones.

Dark circles under your eyes can be embarrassing and give you a tired, older and less attractive look.
Here is how you develop dark circles:

Dark circles under your eyes means the capillaries - the tiny blood vessels under your eyes - are leaking. Hemoglobin is part of the leaking fluid. Normally red, hemoglobin stays this color when receiving plenty of oxygen. When it loses oxygen when leaking out of blood vessels, it changes to hues of dark blue and purple. It is almost the same theory that applies when you get a bruise. Keep in mind that liquid leaking from the blood vessels under your eye can be small, but the leaking carries on day after day. This is precisely the reason the dark circles under your eyes can go on for years and not fade away.

How do you get rid of the dark circles under your eyes?

Try using an eye cream. This could mean a world of a difference. Keep in mind that eye creams, eye serum and eye gel are all the same.
There are three important ingredients that must go into whatever cream, gel or serum that you choose to apply under your eyes. They are;

Homeo Age - this is an extract of algae from Canada. Scientific testing shows that it stimulates skin cell growth by 25%. Algae is rich in vitamins, minerals and antioxidants.

Eyeliss - this is a peptide compound created in Europe. Not only does it lessen capillary permeability, it also helps improve lymph circulation under the eyes. This lessens the puffiness or bags that appear under your eyes. Eyeliss is also helpful in improving the firmness of the skin and its elasticity.

Haloxy - this ingredient helps thicken the skin under the eyes and boosts circulation to remove the amassed hemoglobin under your eyes.

Hard-core techies have been hacking their hardware for a longtime in the effort to get every little bit performance out of their PC’s by overclocking the processors on their computers. The reason techies are usually the only ones to do this, is that you need to have an intricate knowledge of the inner workings of computers as well as be able to use specialized hardware and software. Even with this knowledge it is possible to push the machine so far out that it begins to crash or fails to boot.

While normal computer users will not notice much of a change in an overclocked PC, Gamers are the only ones who experience any real performance gain. Having said that, if you do own a $400 Netbook which is slow and sluggish to use, over-clocking just might make a difference.

With this in mind, Asus has decided to include overclocking software in its popular Eee PC netbook series. Called the Super Hybrid Engine, the application allows you to take the 1.33 GHz Atom CPU and push it up to a maximum of 1.73GHz. Theoretically, this means you could experience as much as 30% boost in performance just by changing a few settings and overclocking your computer. The best part about this feature is that, Asus itself supports the software, so you will not void your warranty when overclocking.

A word of warning, overclocking causes an increase in heat, the fans to run longer and louder and even the occasional crash; inevitably the extra performance will affect battery life.

For many people, exploring the beautiful landscapes the Australian Outback has to offer is an enjoyable and fulfilling experience. It is not comparable to any other location in the world, which perhaps explains the fascination people have with it. If you are looking for the crowning outdoor experience, there are a few simple steps to consider before you set out on your adventure.

The Australian Outback is a sparsely populated area, and a little common sense will help you avoid trouble. Visiting unreal natural sites and aboriginal locations is exciting, but the key to doing any of these safely is to plan. For example, apart from being one Australia’s landmarks, Ayers Rock (also known locally as Uluru) is a place people flock to because of its sheer natural beauty. What visitors do not realize, is the time it takes to get there. Ayers Rock, situated more than 400 km from Alice Springs, will require you to plan the long drive time, to-and-from the Rock, if you are to enjoy the experience. Be sure to pack enough supplies for the drive and have enough fuel in your car to be able reach the next gas station.

While there are dangerous animals, insects and reptiles in the bush, the unknown assailant of most visitors to the outback is the brutal Australian sun. This, as well as fatigue caused by long drives to-and-from the location can lead to an unpleasant experience. Follow the Scout’s motto and Be Prepared! Doing your homework on the place you want to visit, some basic common sense and planning will help you enjoy your Australian Outback holiday to the fullest.

Insignia Blu-Ray players are now selling at $99 along with Streaming Netflix. The Insignia NS-BRDVD3, which is a budget Blu-ray deck with that does 1080p upconversion for standard DVDs, on-board decoding of lossless Dolby TrueHD soundtracks (no native DTS-HD Master Audio support, unfortunately), and an Ethernet port for access to Net-connected BD-Live extras. It was only a few weeks ago that the same player was priced at $129 with a $50 Netflix coupon. But now Best Buy has dropped the price to $99 with no coupon needed. This turns out to be a pretty good deal considering the fact that the deck also streams about 17,000 movies and TV shows from Netflix (provided you’re a subscriber). Best Buy is also selling a Wi-Fi-enabled version of the player for $199.

The Blu-Ray player is not the first player to break the $100 barrier. Sears has been selling a refurbished Magnavox BD player for $99, and until recently, Newegg had the same player for just $79, although it’s out of stock. Blu-Ray prices will surely fall as we approach the holiday season. Rumors are that BD decks could sell as low as $49 but unfortunately it would not be a Sony or Samsung player.

Debuting on Tuesdays at 8pm EST, V is a promising reboot of the ’80s sci-fi television show of the same name. The question is, can V sustain the intrigue sparked in its premiere episode? The TV series is brought to life by the presence of Morena Baccarin, previously known for her work in Stargate SG-1, Serenity and Firefly. Her portrayal of her character is superb and nearly hypnotic. She proceeds to convert earthlings to the vague alien cause with a promise of universal healthcare and a hard to refuse line - “We are at peace, always.”

As always there are a handful of skeptics who can resist the charms dished out by Baccarin. Amongst these skeptics is FBI Counterterrorist Agent, Erica Evans, played by Elizabeth Mitchell. Mitchell has left behind her character from Lost, to portray the role of an FBI agent.

The CG based spacecraft add a surreal touch to the TV show, although the computer generated imagery bears a stark resemblance to District 9’s steel-gray spacecraft. Produced by Scott Peters of The 4400 and Alias, the show promises to thrill intrigue audiences across the nation. Like ABC’s other ambitious new sci-fi series, FlashForward, V shows promise as a twisty-turny saga of global scope. The only problem might be is the fact that once the novelty of the CG spaceships wear off they lose their wow factor.
