Practically everyone is obsessed with weight loss. People’s concern on health and its cost is mostly the reason for this. Everyone who is overweight keeps trying different diets in a desperate attempt to shed those extra pounds. However, it is important that you find one that you will not only enjoy, but also help you change your habits for a lifetime. Here are some easy and simple tips to help control your weight, minus starvation routines and over-working yourself at the gym.

# 1 – Walking: Put aside 30 minutes of your TV time to enjoy a stroll around the block or a nearby park. This helps strengthen your legs and heart. It also burns unwanted fat. You do not have to do it alone. Engage your family in the daily routine, and get your kids used to a daily walk – you will be doing them a favor.

# 2 – Use an Exercycle: If you do not have this, you can get one at an affordable rate. You can exercise using the Exercycle while watching television or listening to the radio.

# 3 – Take the stairs: if you live in a building that has an elevator and stairs, choose the stairs. This is a great way to lose some weight, and it only takes a few minutes. When you go shopping, park your car at the furthermost parking spot – the walk will do you good.

# 4 – Eat in moderation: You can keep eating your favorite foods, but do not overdo it.

# 5 – Get into a routine: You can decide what you want your exercise routine to be like. Ensure that you set aside a certain time each day for it. Stay focused and make sure you exercise regularly.
Keep in mind that you must consult a doctor or a professional if you choose to diet to help control your weight. Good luck!

When it comes to living green, it is important to know your plastics. There are different types of plastic boxes for storage of food or water that are categorized by their resin identification code — a number from one to seven — that represents a different type of resin. This number is easily found on the plastic container surrounded by a triangle. The following is a brief overview of resins one through three:

Polyethylene terephthalate (PET or PETE): Examples of this resin include disposable soft drink and water bottles. These plastics are fine for single use. However, avoid reusing number one water and soda bottles because they absorb flavors and bacteria that are difficult to wash off.

High density polyethylene (HDPE): Examples of this plastic include milk jugs, liquid detergent bottles and shampoo bottles. This is one of the best types of plastics to use because it does not transmit chemicals into your food and it is recyclable.

Polyvinyl chloride (V or PVC): Examples of this plastic include meat wrap, cooking oil bottles and plumbing pipes. Whether you’re purchasing diecast car displays or food containers, avoid using this plastic. PVC contains softeners called phthalates that hinder hormonal development and its manufacture and incineration release dioxin, a potent carcinogen and hormone disruptor.
